Chief Operating Officer
Priyam Patel, Operational Head, has manufacturing experience in solar photovoltaics for about the last eight years. He is one of the promoters, ensuring business continuity outlook.
Sunbond Energy, a young enterprise, came into existence in 2020, at a time when the photovoltaic industry had entered a new era of cell technologies, such as multi-busbar and higher wafer sizes, M10 & G12. The company plans to expand its facility by another 250 MW by the last quarter of 2025.
Solar energy has taken a central place in India’s National Action Plan on Climate Change, with the National Solar Mission (NSM) as one of its key missions. NSM was launched on January 11, 2010. It is a major initiative by the Government of India, with active participation from states, to promote ecologically sustainable growth while addressing India’s energy security challenges.
It will also constitute a major contribution by India to the global effort to meet the challenges of climate change. The mission’s objective is to establish India as a global leader in solar energy by creating the necessary policy conditions for the rapid diffusion of solar technology across the country.
This aligns with India’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) target, which aims to:
- Achieve about 50% cumulative installed electric power capacity from non-fossil fuel-based energy resources.
- Reduce the emission intensity of its GDP by 45% from 2005 levels by 2030.
